Course Description ~ Students will explore a variety of media (websites, film, television, print, and advertisements). Students will understand how the media employ common persuasive techniques and cognitive biases, including stereotypes, vocabulary, and stylistic choices to inform, manipulate, and influence consumers. Students will complete extensive readings and produce written assignments related to the media, including original advertising campaigns, persuasive letters, and research projects.
