"Broadcast Journalism" is really two classes in one. Half the time, students will spend learning the broadcasting (TV) side of journalism with Mr. Lewis and the other half the time students will focus on print/written journalism with Mr. Keck. This is a product-oriented class, as students will produce both original TV newscasts and the high school's monthly student newspaper. The goal of the class is to develop students' communication skills -- particularly their writing abilities -- as well as their awareness of the importance of a free press and the responsibilities of journalists in a democratic society.
