AP English Language and Composition

Course Description ~ Students will explore a variety of genres with a particular focus on nonfiction to study the art of rhetoric. In particular, students will learn how to read closely and analyze the techniques used in writing to persuade an audience. In addition, they will learn how to employ such techniques in their own writing. The class should adequately prepare students for both the AP English Language & Composition exam in the spring as well as college-level English classes.

Homework: 

Homework due Wed (1/8) or Thur (1/9): Do "Logical Fallacy" project (3 advertisements).

​MID-TERM EXAM
D Period: Friday, Jan. 17, 9:45 a.m.
G Period: Wednesday, Jan. 22, 7:25 a.m.

       The exam will include:
       1) AP-style multiple-choice questions.
       2) AP-style rhetorical-analysis essay
